Despite the wind, I took a caddy of seeds outside today and planted them in the garden boxes. I'm not sure why I have no faith in seeds. I've eaten lettuce grown from the very same seed packet. Still, as I pushed the little bean, pea, lettuce, spinach, tiny tiny chives and dill seeds down with my fingers and patted them in the soil, I kept thinking, "these are never gonna grow." Maybe that's what is staying my green thumb: pure doubt. But I've certainly given them rich soil, plenty of love, and hopefully will be able to supply consistent water. This year will be yet another "experiment upon the seed," and hopefully the vegetables will grow as well as my faith.
