"In words, like weeds, I'll wrap me o'er,
Like coarsest clothes against the cold"

Today at Stake Conference Sister Beck gave a beautiful talk about separating our priorities into Essential (eternal things), Necessary (preparing meals, running the house), and Nice (hobbies, lunch with friends). I was glad she listed laundry and cooking as necessary, since a large portion of my day is wrapped up in keeping house. And it is satisfying to have piles of clean laundry folded and put away and a delicious dinner to eat in the evening. It was a good reminder of the delicate balance life requires and also of the vital importance of my job as a mother: teaching, rearing, nurturing.
