Today I got to work on my sword-fighting skills. Isaiah loves to be Peter Pan and battle me, Captain Hook, with an array of weapons ranging from sticks to scissors to pens to plastic swords. If Charlotte's awake for these battles then she steps in as Pirate Annie. I taught Isaiah to engage me in a fight by saying, "On Guard!" and holding out his sword. He thinks this is fantastic. Usually I lose when he knocks the weapon out of my hand and I say, "Ah, ye have cut me to ribbons."

What a good moment, and phrase, to remember :) What a good Mom to be an on-call pirate :)
