Tonight for dinner I tried a new recipe: party meatballs with sweet and sour sauce over rice. I looked at the meat mixture and then decided to cleverly add a few extra veggies like I learned I could do in my new cookbook, Deceptively Delicious. In went sweet potato puree. In went shredded carrot. Ah ha! I baked them in the oven, set the table, put the food on, and called everyone to dinner. Isaiah took one look at the plate of meatballs and tureen of red sauce and literally shouted, "Wow! Look at those meatballs. And I want some of that red sauce!" I was thrilled — dinner has never been so well received.
