Friday I made applesauce with my cousin Lynnette and her daughter Kacie. They thought it was a lot of fun. I handed out aprons and told them how my mom used to play Russian Applesauce Factory with us and we'd pretend we were slaves as we cut up and cooked the apples, cranked them through the strainer, and ladled the sauce. They laughed and played along. After five hours of work we had 18 beautiful quarts of yummy applesauce.
