My two students came for piano lessons today, and I was thrilled with how well Kacie had practiced Fur Elise. Such a timeless, classic song. Her brother Michael, on his second lesson, could play Fur Elise, too after listening to her all week. He plays by ear! Hmmm.... I taught him chopsticks and let him put little plastic toys on the keys to learn their note names: army guys on A's, bugs on B's, coins for C's, dinosaurs for D's, eels for E's (okay, renamed snakes), frog's for F's, and geckos for G's. He thought that was cool.
