"In words, like weeds, I'll wrap me o'er,
Like coarsest clothes against the cold"

Thursday for Granny Club we visited my friend Jamie's house to see her urban chickens. It was great! We held both baby chicks and the mother hens, and Jamie let the kids reach in and choose a newly laid, beautifully brown egg to take home and eat for lunch. Isaiah said, "I want a pet chicken to come out of my egg, so I don't want to eat it." He cradled it carefully and then made elaborate plans for Daddy to build our own chicken house in our backyard so we could have urban chickens. I'm not sure I'm ready for that yet!
