"In words, like weeds, I'll wrap me o'er,
Like coarsest clothes against the cold"

Isaiah had a bug party at school the other day. All morning long I hunted for his bumblebee costume and even though I dug through all the boxes of his old clothes, I still couldn't find it. Minutes before it was time to load up in the car and drive to school, I said, "Well, let's draw some spider eyes on your forehead." So I got out my brown eyebrow pencil and drew him six extra eyes and a pair of antennae. He seemed pleased. He came home excited about the fun new bug facts that he'd learned. "Mom, did you know flies have suction cups on their feet? Did you know there's a bug that eats flowers and that ladybugs eat those bugs?" I'm glad preschool has been such a good experience for him.
