Yesterday we celebrated our 8th wedding anniversary, but not with much style. I was exhausted after cleaning all day, Seth was exhausted after sprinklers all weekend, and it was the day after Mother's Day. I think we'll have a do-over next week and go out to dinner. As it was, I couldn't bring myself to make dinner so Seth went to pick up take-out. I set the table with a red tablecloth, fancy dishes, and candles. The kids loved it. Charlotte shouted, "Birthday!" when I lit the candles. Seth came home with gourmet burgers and fries — messy, but delicious.
