The other day I did something enormously geeky. I covered my new hardcover books with plastic dust jacket covers — the kind they have on all library books. They look amazing! I realized after a recent buying spree at Barnes and Noble that I couldn't keep the kids from tearing the covers off the new children's books unless they were a lot like library books. And since you can buy anything online, I ordered some dust jacket covers and they came in the mail. Then I covered a few cookbooks, and some art books, and one lovely book of haiku poetry that Jessica gave me years ago.
