"In words, like weeds, I'll wrap me o'er,
Like coarsest clothes against the cold"

Lately Isaiah has been obsessed with volcanoes. He keeps coloring pictures of them and was overjoyed when he found one that looked like "one you can build inside the house." He was referring, of course, to the classic science project volcano, made out of modeling clay and stoked with a cocktail of baking soda and vinegar. So we made one today. I made clay out of flour, water, and salt; it had the exact consistency of mashed potatoes. He formed it around a plastic waterbottle, fashioned a cardboard platform for it, and carefully painted the volcano black, with red for the lava on top. We watched it erupt for family home evening, after adding in some dish soap and food coloring to make the lava bubble and appear red hot. He thought it was awesome, and I have to say that I had fun too.

I just caught up on all your entries. Such slices of life. I loved the "baby upon baby" quote (I'm needing extra love/patience/capacity since I'm borrowing a fourth, my niece Aubrey, this month). It is hot enough for us to stay inside for three months, so I love hearing about your outdoor fun. Any pictures of your hanging baskets?
