"In words, like weeds, I'll wrap me o'er,
Like coarsest clothes against the cold"

Friday Isaiah and I made gingerbread men to take to the neighbors. He was thrilled with the whole endeavor, expertly dumping in the flour, stirring the butter, and even reminding me when I forgot the baking soda. He also said that we needed to watch the gingerbread men carefully when they came out of the oven, "so they don't try to run away!" he said. So we turned on the oven light to watch them bake, and then corralled them on cooling racks so they would stay put. He and Charlotte also loved eating the gingerbread men, feet first, though, so they couldn't run off.
