Last night I made the kids broccoli, which thankfully they love. We spread the broccoli with butter and called them trees, which made them all the more fun to eat. Even with this appetizer, though, they managed to be hysterical a half hour later for dinner. Both of them threw tantrums at the table and refused to eat their potatoes. I sat in my chair and said, "I'm just too tired for this." Seth picked them both up and carted them off to their rooms where they howled in unison, like a weird sort of crying chorus. We laughed a little (better than crying) with each other as we ate our dinner with this soundtrack. Then we brought them back out for toast. It's better than nothing.

I love your small moments. They are so uplifting. Even if you are having a struggle with the kids I can see the strength shining through. We have had many dinner chorus moments so I can highly relate.
We had a similar chorus during Christmas dinner at Dane's mom's house... I've never enjoyed a mostly-cold plate of roast beef and asparagus so much as after putting them to bed...
